Hello, today I would like to tell you about the new Dustin Pike digi sets, one comprises this funny flamingos from  Whimsy Stamps.

I printed all of them on Alcohol marker paper and then cut them out, I decided to use this particular one in the set and I wanted to make it look like he's resting on the Whimsy Hello word die.

I cut the shadow from the Hello set and inkblended it with Distress inks ( Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Uncharted Mariner, I thought that could look like water and the white Hello like sea foam or the like, but it definitely freshens it up.

I attached the flamingo and hello together with  foamtape.

On the cardbase I swiped  Distress inks also (Scattered Straw ) and splattered with Gathered Twigs to make it look like a beach; but I think with green it would have looked like a lake or glen

Adhered the image and Word to the cardbase and added white gel pen details.

Fairy Princess

 

Hello, today I wanted to show you one of the new digital stamps from Whimsy: Fairy Princess from the Krista Heij-Barber line.

I went pink tut last time, so I thought I'd do a minty green now with lilac accents, I colored the image with alcohol markers like Spectrum Noir, Triblend and Graph-it brush markers.

The background is made into a masked off area  with Distress inks: Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio and splattered with water. I thought they matched well. The sentiment is from the Simple Sentiment Strip set and I had it stamped on this cardbase from prior sessions, otherwise I  think the Have a magical birthday from yet another, Whimsy Stamps set (Create your own magic) would have been  apt too.

AAA Colourful Challenge #3

 Hello, this month I thought I'd make a baby card, inspired by the colours on the game badge. I did a few shades to give my washing line some contrast.

I've used a dieset from Marianne design (CR1502) with Mintopia cardstock from various mini packs (Summer , Autumn, Floral, Pastel , not sure which exactly).

I've added some double sided tape on the back of the paper, making the shapes, even the tiny ones into stickers, it makes assembling so much easier.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Tiny Type) and I"ve stamped it with Memento Dandelion Ink.

AAA Cards Challenge #263 Anything CAS goes with the option of Wedding (anniversary)

 Hello, this fortnight we have An Anything CAS goes with the option of Wedding or Anniversary.

I didn't take the optional twist, but went with a precolored image  I had in my stash, it's from Clearly Besotted Twinkle Toes, same for the sentiment, and that gave me the idea to make the background into a star shaped inkblended focal point.

For this star I've used Distress inks (Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo) and Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

Mounted the image with foamtape and stuck it on top.

Little Ballerina

 

Hello, today I'd like to show you one of the new digital stamps from Whimsy: Little Ballerina, from the Krista Heij-Barber Line.

I printed it and cut it out, then colored the image with my markers, I wanted to go for a ginger haired girl, but I think it shows up more as a brunette. of course the tutu had to be pink.

The sentiment is from Whimsy also: Simple sentiment strips, a clear set.

For the background I masked off the background with strips of masking paper, I thought they could be stage lights beaming down on the little ballerina.

To make them I've used Distress inks: Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers, then splattered with gold watercolor paint..

The sentiment I've stamped with Versafine Morning Mist. Mounted the Ballerina with foamtape and adhered her to the card.

Little Swimmer girl

 

Hello, today I wanted to show you one of the newest Whimsy Stamps digi release: Little Swimmer Girl from Krista Heij-Barber.

I printed it out on alcohol paper and made sure all the lines were connected as I wanted the Scan n Cut to do it's magic. and the hand drawn style sometimes trips up the machine. It cut it perfectly, but I cut off the  puddle around her feet in the end as I  imagined here on a beach about to go into the waves, no no puddle yet..so I cut it off ;-)

Colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and Graphit Brush markers. added detail in the hair with pencils to deepen the shade.

For the background I made a mask with one of the Boho Circle dies from Whimsy.

Applied Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid lagoon for the sea, and Scattered Straw and Gathered Twigs for the same. I then splattered the background with metallic inks, removing the mask to get water splatters outside the mask as well.

Mounted the image with foam tape.

The sentiment is from Whimsy also (digi set Dragon Beach Fun.

AAA Birthday Cards Challenge April: Shaker card #60

 

Hello, this month the challenge prompt is shaker, I made a  shaker card, but I was thinking a cocktail shaker or wobbler also shakes, so....

I again made more than one card, that's the danger of having them done in plenty of time and then second guessing yourself ;-)

So for my second and final rendering: 

I cut this little die from Dutch Crafts it from black cardstock.

Matched the moon with a circle shaped die and diecut that into a panel.

Stamped the Happy Birthday (Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips) with Versafine Black ink and let it dry

Built up the shaker part with acetate, 2 layers of foamtape and filled it with gold stars confetti, maybe a few too many, but I liked the idea of golden stars  behind the Moon as if it's space. Closed the shaker with the same black cardstock and adhered it to a cardbase.

For the first card:

I started by diecutting the cloud shapes into a card panel (Joy Crafts)

I Inkblended the cardbase in different  Blue Distress inks. Adhered acetate to the back for the cloud panel and  built the wells up with thick foamtape from Heffy Doodle and added the confetti, closing the shaker with the cardbase.

The Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and the image with dies is from MIntopia (Voy Volando), stamped it with Extreme black ink and colored it with Copic Markers, cout him out and adhered it to the card with foamtape.
