Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: pastels

For this Simon Says Stamp challenge, pastels, I've made a watercoloured card on normal  cardstock.
I've primed the Neenah solar white with Gesso and that helps with retaining the watercolour.
The gesso also mutes everything, so easy to turn colours into pastels, even though I still made really light shades.
The Octopus is from Ranger Dylusions , clearly under the sea; and the sentiment is from Joy craft, seashore.
For the Octopus I´ve used Distress inks (dried marigold, spiced marmalade and ripe persimmon) and covered it with  Wink of Stella.
The background is made with Talens Ecoline, a fluid water colour (cyan  watered down plenty).
All mounted on Neenah solar white cardstock with double sided adhesive.

If you run out of watercolour paper give gesso a try.
